The Heart of best coast pilates
Lauren Chertudi
Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, Lauren has been practicing Pilates and yoga for 20 years as part of her dance training. As a professional dancer she used Pilates to warm up, recuperate, and strengthen her body — and over time, she discovered that movement wasn’t always straightforward for her. Living with hEDS and POTS herself, Lauren has spent years learning how to modify and adapt movement for a hypermobile body, turning that personal experience into one of her greatest teaching strengths.
Lauren began her Pilates teacher training in early 2015 with Anne Bishop, falling deep into the rabbit hole of the Pilates method. She focuses on providing classes adaptable for all ages, abilities, and experience — using anatomy, body awareness, and dance principles to find challenge in a safe and fun environment. She specializes in modifying movement for hypermobile bodies, as well as bodies that require more modifications, mindfulness, and care.
Lauren moved to the Bay Area in 2016 and currently teaches Pilates, dance, and yoga throughout the peninsula, south bay, and Santa Cruz areas. You can find her at Sero Pilates near downtown Sunnyvale.
“The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.” – Alan W. Watts
